Unfortunately, our proposal was rejected by TechStars and Y Combinator. We wish those who were selected all the best. And thank YC and TS for considering our app. Now, we've got a lot of work to do...

Looks like you applied late to TechStars it's already closed, late as in not too late but not early in the process. YCombinator "doesn't care about your age" probably because they are under-the-hill themselves!
Maybe it's a godsend because the $5,000 they give you now might be $5,000XXX in lost money later.
